Blake Coleman has had some productive years in Calgary, but with his team struggling, he’s seemingly becoming a top trade piece for the team.

The Calgary Flames have struggled out of the gates in 2025/26, with the team posting a 3-9-2 record through their first 14 games, ranking them 32nd in the NHL standings.

Unsurprisingly, this has led to plenty of trade speculation swirling around the league, and while most of it surrounds star centre Nazem Kadri, it appears as though the team may have some major trade chips to work with.

Blake Coleman Reportedly In Trade Talks

One player that could be moved is two-time Stanley Cup winner Blake Coleman, who came to the Flames after the 2020/21 campaign, and in that time, he’s been very productive for Calgary.

Over the past two years, Coleman has tallied 45 goals and 93 points, and given his experience, it makes sense that there’s interest around the league, with David Pagnotta name dropping him as a name to watch on the trade market.

We’re gonna hear him more as the season progresses, a lotta teams like that guy.

As of right now, it’s unclear if the Flames are going to be sellers well in advance of the trade deadline, but with veterans like Coleman having plenty of value, it makes the most sense for the team to start regaining some of that value for future assets.

From New Jersey to Tampa Bay to Los Angeles, there are plenty of contending teams that could use a high-level two-way winger like Coleman, and if the Flames struggles continue, they will be even more motivated to move him, so expect something to go down here.
