Clear Signs of Potential for Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks cannot seem to catch a break with injuries, players like center Filip Chyitil and Brock Boeser being out force others to play positions they aren’t accustomed to, Lukas Reichel clearly shows the potential to be a solid winger, but he has to play center.”Following the team’s morning skate, Adam Foote met with reporters where he gave injury updates on a handful of players that are currently on the sidelines including forward Conor Garland and Teddy Blueger.”-Jaxon

Lukas Reichel held back by injuries for the Vancouver Canucks.

Canucks Army recently discussed Reichel’s potential, they have seen what he can do out on the wing, and it’s clearly where he is most effective. Playing center is arguably the second hardest position behind the goaltender, and it’s simply just not Reichel’s strong suit, and there is nothing wrong with that, except when half the team is injured.

Lukas Reichel has struggled at centre since joining the Canucks, but the talent to be a solid winger is apparent, and that’s where Harman would like to see him as the Canucks start to get bodies back.

The Canucks biggest weakness for the past two seasons has been producing offence, 5v5 and on the power play, when Reichel is on the wing, he creates and drives plays. When he has to worry about playing a 200 foot game like a center has to, his best qualities are masked and the team suffers for it. Unfortunately the Canucks do not have any other options, as they didn’t want to spend money on the 2nd line center this offseason, and it’s hurting them exponentially.

Hopefully the Canucks can get some reinforcements soon, and once that happens we can see what Reichel can do when he is playing where he belongs.

Will Lukas Reichel have a drastic improvement on offence, once more players get healthy and he moves to the wing for the Vancouver Canucks?
