Martin St-Louis Confirms Who Will Be His Number-One Goalie for the Remainder of the Season

Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis didn’t have good news today for fans of Jakub Dobes.
In short, and as we’ve seen since he became head coach of the Canadiens, Martin St-Louis confirmed that he doesn’t really believe in the concept of true goaltending rotation.
He believes instead that one goalie should be the trusted man, the one to shoulder “the bulk of the workload.”
Yes, that changes everything!
Martin St-Louis wants one true starting goaltender – and he believes that goalie is Samuel Montembeault
For the rest of the season, expect to see one goalie play much more than the other, and Martin St-Louis believes that goalie is Samuel Montembeault… Wow!
“I believe you need to have a goaltender capable of taking on the bulk of the workload, and I think that goaltender is Montembeault. We’re currently working in that direction.”

So expect Samuel Montembeault to get plenty of starts this season!
