Chicago Blackhawks News and Notes:

The Chicago Blackhawks have had some troubles as of late. They’ve dropped the three straight games to Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Seattle as they head over to the Rogers Arena in Vancouver for the fourth game of a six-game road trip to try and right those wrongs. Frank Nazar, who’s currently second on the team in points, has been fairly invisible in these last three appearances, grabbing eleven shots on goal while somehow going pointless. If Chicago wants to get back into the playoff race and take down Vancouver, their top guys are going to have to show up a lot more consistently than they have as of late.

Vancouver Canucks News and Notes:

The Vancouver Canucks begin their four game home stand with today’s matchup. With such an even matchup on their hands and the possibility of overtime hanging in the balance, the Canucks remain unbeaten when going into extras, sitting at 5-0 in overtime and shootout games, including a 5-4 overtime victory against the Nashville Predators on Monday. Captain Quinn Hughes also returned to the lineup on Monday. Although he wasn’t able to grab a point in that contest, his presence was felt tremendously and looks to be a key contributor in tonight’s matchup against the Blackhawks.

Players to Watch:

Chicago Blackhawks:

Connor Bedard is back in his hometown of Vancouver for the first time this season as he looks to continue a five game point streak. He went pointless in his last matchup against the Canucks on October 17th so the young superstar is looking for some revenge to get the Blackhawks back on track. Ryan Donato has started to sneak into the upper echelon of goal scorers this season with six goals. Donato looks to continue to be a quiet spark within the bottom-six forward core in Chicago.

Vancouver Canucks:

Brock Boeser is coming off a 3-point performance against the Nashville Predators on Monday, which included two goals and an Overtime winner. With Conor Garland still nursing an injury he sustained against the New York Rangers on October 30th, Boeser keeps his spot on the top line and will be a go-to guy in what looks to be a shots-on-goal-heavy matchup. Kiefer Sherwood has been lighting up scoreboards left and right as well this season, as he’s tied for fourth in goals this season with nine, already halfway to his total from last season.
