NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Nashville Predators Foundation announced that it has launched a donation campaign and will host several food drives throughout November to support Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
This comes amid mixed signals from the Trump administration about when or if SNAP benefits will be dispersed again during the federal government shutdown. Nearly 700,000 Tennesseans receive SNAP benefits and are affected by the cuts.
Because of this uncertainty, Second Harvest is experiencing an “unprecedented hunger crisis,” according to the Preds Foundation.
The Preds are now asking fans to donate, and the Foundation will match donations up to $17,159.

Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.
Additionally, the Predators Foundation will be hosting food drives throughout November across Nashville. The first food drive is in collaboration with Second Harvest and is set for Thursday, Nov. 6, at Bridgestone Arena before the game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
“Guests may drop off nonperishable food items at any arena entrance prior to the 7 p.m. CT puck drop; alternatively, those wishing to contribute can purchase from the Amazon Wish List, linked here,” the Predators Foundation said.
Those interested in donating items for food drives can drop them off at the Ford Ice Centers in Antioch, Bellevue and Clarksville through Nov. 30.
