Though they cooled off, the Flyers were consistently doing the things head coach Rick Tocchet has been looking for. They were creating traffic, getting sticks in front of the net, and scoring on “hard ice”. The defense may have had a rough period, but the Flyers pulled out a gritty win against the Canadiens.

Daily Faceoff: The Owen Tippett trade chatter generated by Dave Pagnotta has quieted off. However, the Flyers’ recent struggles have once again raised questions about the future of their forward group. With contenders looking to bolster their middle-six forward cores, Anthony Di Marco wonders if Tippett’s days with the Flyers are numbered.

First, the Kings are looking for more “firepower” in their top-six. They may have to wait before they can make the kind of addition they’re looking for. The Kings need to move fast. Could they have their own solution in-house?

Di Marco himself reported that the Wild are in need of a middle-six forward to bolster their room. There is certainly a trade fit with the Flyers, but if Philly holds firm on their stance regarding Tippett, Minnesota may have to look elsewhere.
