A trade proposal has come out recently that would see the Vancouver Canucks and General Manager Patrik Allvin acquire some forward help via a former first round pick.
At this time of year, it’s never easy to make trades but as we get deeper into November and closer to American Thanksgiving, we should see talks start to pick up around the National Hockey League and depending on where Vancouver is in the standings at that point, Patrik Allvin could be in the thick of things.
Vancouver has been linked to numerous players in recent weeks and months as the club searches for an offensive boost and recently, a trade proposal was suggested that would see a former first round pick make his way to the Lower Mainland.
Former first round pick dealt to Vancouver Canucks in intriguing trade proposal
In an article for Heavy.com last week, Michael DeRosa shared a trade proposal between the Vancouver Canucks and Columbus Blue Jackets that would see Patrik Allvin’s group welcome in a former first rounder that’s in search of a fresh start.
DeRosa’s trade proposal would see the Vancouver Canucks acquire Russian forward Yegor Chinakhov from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for forward Teddy Blueger and a second round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.”Canucks Get:
– Yegor Chinakhov
Blue Jackets Get:
-Teddy Blueger
– 2026 Second-Round Pick
DeRosa believes that Yegor Chinakhov would be the type of player that Vancouver is looking for, someone who can play a middle-six role and perhaps even on the power play too, with ten of his 75 points in the National Hockey League coming on the PP.
“With the Canucks needing more skill and forward depth, Chinakhov is exactly the kind of young player who they should consider pursuing. When looking at their current roster, he would have the potential to provide their middle six and power play with a nice boost.” DeRosa said.
So far, nothing has materialized on the trade front involving Chinakhov as the Columbus Blue Jackets have stated they’re not in a rush to move him right now and that this could be punted to later on in the year, perhaps closer to the deadline on Friday, March 6th.
