The Pittsburgh Penguins will be without the services of Filip Hallander until into 2026.
The team announced Friday that the 25-year-old forward has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg and will miss a minimum of three months.

A native of Sundsvall, Sweden, Hallander is back in the NHL after two years in the Swedish Elite League with Timra IK. Hallander scored his first NHL goal on Oct. 16. In 13 games this season, Hallander has a goal and three assists.
Originally taken with the 58th overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Hallander had previously appeared in three games for the Pens across two seasons.
Internationally, Hallander has represented the Tre Kronor at multiple levels. He was a member of the squad that competed at the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Belarus and Latvia.
The Penguins (9-4-2) sit second in the Metropolitan Division, level on points with the first-place New Jersey Devils. They return to action on Saturday afternoon with a visit to the Devils in Newark.
