Defenceman Kevin Bahl will be a game-time decision for Friday’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks due to an undisclosed injury, according to head coach Ryan Huska.

Bahl, 25, last appeared during the Flames’ 5-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday where he skated 20:34, recording two penalty minutes with a plus-2 rating.

The 6-foot-6 left-shot defenceman has a goal and three points in 15 games this season while averaging 21:06 of ice time.

Detroit Red Wings

Forward Patrick Kane will return to the Red Wings’ lineup on Friday when his team takes on the New York Rangers.

Kane, 36, hasn’t played since Oct. 17 while he was dealing with an upper-body injury.

The 5-foot-10 winger was off to a hot start to the season before the injury, registering two goals and five points in five games.

He skated on the team’s second line during the morning skate with forwards Alex DeBrincat and Marco Kasper.

Detroit sits tied for second in the Atlantic Division with a 9-5-0 record with the Boston Bruins and are two points behind the Montreal Canadiens.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks recalled goaltender Jiri Patera from the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks on Friday under emergency conditions.

General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that G Jiri Patera has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL) under emergency conditions.

Patera, 26, was claimed off waivers from the Boston Bruins in October of 2024.

The 6-foot-3 netminder has a 1-2-2 record in the AHL this season with a 3.10 goals-against average and an .894 save percentage.

Winnipeg Jets

Forwards Gustav Nyquist, and defenceman Dylan Samberg participated in the Jets’ morning skate in non-contact jerseys on Friday while forward Cole Perfetti was sported a regular sweater.

Perfetti and Samberg have yet to play this season while dealing with injuries while Nyquist has missed the last two games with an undisclosed injury.

Perfetti, 23, has been dealing with an ankle sprain sustained just prior to the start of the regular season and had a week-to-week timeframe.

The 5-foot-11 centre registered 18 goals and 50 points in 82 games last season and had three goals and six points in the playoffs.

Samberg, 26, has been out with a broken wrist sustained during training camp and was given a 6-to-8 week timeframe for his return.

The 6-foot-4 left-shot defenceman had six goals and 20 points in 60 games last season while averaging 21:08 of ice time.

Nyquist, 36, last appeared during the team’s 6-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Oct. 30 where he skated 1:28 before heading off with the injury.

The 5-foot-11 winger has five assists in 11 games this season.

Gostisbehere, 32, missed the team’s last four games while dealing with a mid-body injury.

The 5-foot-11 left-shot defenceman has a goal and seven points in six games this season while averaging 14:34 of ice time.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks used these lines during their morning skate prior to their game against the Calgary Flames on Friday, according to Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio.

Nashville Predators

The Predators placed forward Cole Smith on injured reserve with an upper-body injury on Friday.

Smith, 30, missed the team’s last three games with the injury and has three goals and 13 games this season.

New Jersey Devils

Defenceman Dougie Hamilton missed practice on Friday after he left Thursday’s 4-3 overtime victory over the Montreal Canadiens early with an undisclosed injury.

Dougie Hamilton and Connor Brown are not participating in today’s #NJDevils practice.

Hamilton, 32, left the game in the second period after skating 10:09, recording a shot with a minus-1 rating. Head coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters that Hamilton is still being evaluated on Friday and won’t know his Saturday status until pregame.

The 6-foot-6 right-shot defenceman has four goals and seven points in 14 games this season while averaging 20:59 of ice time.

Additionally, forward Connor Brown missed practice on Friday while he’s dealing with an upper-body injury.

Brown has missed the team’s last three games after recording five goals and six points in 11 games this season.

Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers assigned goaltender Aleksei Kolosov to the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Friday.

Kolosov, 23, appeared in two games with the Flyers this season, going 0-1-1 with a 1.62 goals-against average and .929 save percentage.

He also has a 3-2-0 record in the AHL this season with a 2.60 GAA and .918 save percentage.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Forward Filip Hallander will miss a minimum of three months after he was diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg.

Hallander, 25, missed the Penguins’ 5-3 victory over the Washington Capitals on Thursday for what was described as a lower-body injury at the time.

The 6-foot-1 forward appeared in 13 games with the Penguins this season, recording a goal and four points.

He was drafted 58th overall by the Penguins during the 2018 NHL Draft.
