Vancouver Canucks’ projected lineup and starting goaltender have been announced ahead of Saturday’s clash with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Hockey Night in Canada.

“We asked him this summer to take care of himself, and know in a condensed schedule when he feels he needs time off. And that’s what he’s doing.” HC Adam Foote said on Friday.

Vancouver Canucks’ lineup, starting goaltender revealed for Saturday’s game vs Columbus Blue Jackets

Some members of the Vancouver Canucks hit the ice at Rogers Arena for an optional morning skate and all three goaltenders on the NHL roster were in attendance, including Thatcher Demko, which was great news for the team. However, Demko won’t be involved in tonight’s game as Kevin Lankinen will get his seventh start of the season and is looking for his third win, while recently recalled Jiri Patera will serve as the backup, according to Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 radio.

“Kevin Lankinen starts tonight. Jiri Patera will back up. Thatcher Demko skated this morning, but won’t dress.” Batchelor said.

As for tonight’s forward lines and defensive pairings, those are expected to remain the same from Wednesday’s loss against Chicago, as NHL.com reports, with Evander Kane and Conor Garland playing on the top line with Elias Pettersson, who is hoping to get on the scoresheet after registering just three goals in 15 games to start the season.
