An Embarrassing Utah Moment Late in the Game Didn’t Go Unnoticed by the Canadiens

We were treated to a very interesting game last night between the Montreal Canadiens and the Utah Mammoth.

We saw some beautiful goals…

We saw players more alert than the officials…

And we even got a reminder that beginner-level errors don’t only happen in “pee-wee” hockey.

An embarrassing gesture from the Utah Mammoth players that immediately led to a goal by Nick Suzuki

I’ve rarely seen anything like this in an NHL game, but we definitely witnessed one of the – if not the – worst line change or goalie pull attempts in league history.

What were they thinking? Ha! Ha!

“The captain gets in on the scoring fun! Nick Suzuki makes Utah pay for a bad line change as they tried to pull their goalie for an extra attacker to make it 5-2 for the Habs late in the 3rd period!”

– Priyanta Emrith

“Terrible line change from the Mammoth allows the Canadiens to come in on a 2-0.

Nick Suzuki wires it home and this game is over.

5-2 MTL”

– Marco D’Amico

Let’s just say this got a lot of people talking on social media…

It gave captain Nick Suzuki an easy goal – though he didn’t seem all that impressed…

An embarrassing moment for the Utah Mammoth and for rookie defenseman Dmitry Simashev, who will probably be hearing about it a lot today, unfortunately.
