On Tuesday, MacKinnon recorded an assist during a 3-2 victory at Ball Arena over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Following three days off, the 30-year-old had two goals and two assists Saturday when the Avs went into Edmonton and steamrolled the Oilers 9-1 on Hockey Night in Canada.

The following day was his best performance. The Avs defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-4 in OT on Sunday. MacKinnon scored twice in the first period and added two assists in the third before recording one more helper on Gavin Brindley’s overtime game-winning goal.

It was the 11th career five-point night for the 2024 Hart Trophy winner, and the first time he recorded five points in a game where the Avs scored five goals.

Blackhawks center Connor Bedard and Anaheim’s Leo Carlsson were named second and third stars of the week, respectively.
