Connor Bedard’s rise into superstardom has been on full display through the Chicago Blackhawks’ opening 16 games of the season. Bedard is second in the NHL with 25 points (9G, 16A) and is currently riding an eight-game point streak, with 18 points during that stretch. He’s looked faster, better, and more dangerous than ever before, and it’s even more impressive how he’s doing it consistently early in the 2025-26 campaign.

Bedard played a pivotal part in the Blackhawks capping off their long six-game road trip with three consecutive wins. He recorded three straight multi-point performances and totaled nine points in the three games. Bedard also found the back of the net in all three contests.

As a result, the 20-year-old Blackhawks’ forward was named the NHL’s second star of the week on Monday afternoon. Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche was named the first star, while Anaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson earned the third star.

Bedard netted an incredible ten points (3G, 7A) during four games for the Blackhawks last week. He assisted on Chicago’s lone goal in a 3-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken on Nov. 3. Then, Bedard registered two points (1G, 1A) in a 5-2 triumph against his hometown team, the Vancouver Canucks, on Nov. 5. It was also the first time Bedard defeated the team he grew up cheering for.

The 2023-24 Calder Trophy winner followed that up with one of the top showings of his young career, as he picked up four points (1G, 3A) in a 4-0 win over the Calgary Flames on Nov. 7. He also became the 11th-youngest player in NHL history to tally 150 career points.

Bedard added another three points (1G, 2A) in a 5-1 win versus the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday, Nov. 9, which extended his point streak to eight games. He’s now just one game shy of matching his career-best point streak of nine games.

Not only does Bedard sit near the top of the NHL in points, but he’s also first in primary assists (13), tied for fourth in even-strength points (17), and fifth in even-strength assists (11).

Most importantly, Bedard has steered the Blackhawks to an 8-5-3 start to the season and grown alongside the young team in the early going. With Bedard playing at an elite level, the Blackhawks have been much more competitive than anyone anticipated entering the year.

Congrats to Bedard for the honor!
