The Edmonton Oilers and their star captain, Connor McDavid, look to turn things around on Monday night, as they play host to the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Oilers entered the 2025-26 season looking to continue their winning ways, having advanced to back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals. However, that has not led to a promising start, as Edmonton’s October woes continued this year, with many concerned about the team’s lack of efficiency in the first month of the regular season.
The offense has been there at times, but defense and goaltending remain a big question mark in Edmonton. The Oilers are looking for a much-needed bounce-back effort after getting embarrassed on home ice on Saturday night, losing 9-1 to the Colorado Avalanche.
The Blue Jackets are playing around .500 hockey, but with how good the Eastern Conference is, and how tough the Metropolitan Division can be, they are sitting near the bottom of the East. Columbus is looking to respond after losing 4-3 to the Vancouver Canucks this past Saturday, marking the Blue Jackets’ third loss in a row.
