Sport: NHL

It is a bit of an average week in fantasy hockey, as most teams play three times, a few play four times, but some players you may have wanted to add to your team only play twice. Forwards like Tyler Bertuzzi, Ben Kindel, and Andre Burakovsky will have to wait as they likely won’t give as much value as the players with more games below.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire: Forwards for Week 6
Victor Olofsson, Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche are a high-scoring team that has an effective power play. Victor Olofsson has become a big part of that and is on the top power-play unit in a shooter role. He has five goals and 14 points on the season in 16 games, and had one big game (three goals and five points), but he also has five power-play points in his last six games.

Olofsson is playing on the third line with Jack Drury and Gabriel Landeskog, but with Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Martin Necas, and Valeri Nichushkin on the power play. Olofsson is a shooter who will produce offensively, give your fantasy hockey team much-needed PPP, and shoot, but not do too much else. He is worth the add for those alone, though. The Avalanche face off against the Anaheim Ducks, Buffalo Sabres, and New York Islanders this week.

Chris Kreider, Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks are surprisingly very good this season, and someone like Chris Kreider, who likely hasn’t been added in every league to this point, is benefiting from the breakouts. The veteran has found his scoring touch again and has nine goals and 12 points in 11 games. Since returning from injury, he has five goals and seven points in six games as well.

Kreider is on the top line with a surging Leo Carlsson and Troy Terry, and is also on a good top power-play unit with strong talent. Kreider is producing on the power play and has been shooting, but like Olofsson, hasn’t done too much else. The Ducks also play three times this week against the Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings, and Minnesota Wild.

Corey Perry, Los Angeles Kings

Corey Perry’s career resurgence continues as he has been playing great as a new member of the LA Kings this season. Once returning from a season-opening injury, he has been on fire, recording a point in eight of 10 games with seven goals and 11 points on the season.

The veteran may technically be on the fourth line, but he is playing more than that and is on the top power-play unit, where he has three of his points. Perry will add some grit to your team as well, and the Kings match up against the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Ottawa Senators on an Eastern road trip.
