A couple of notable injuries for the Tampa Bay Lightning‘s D-corps.
When speaking to the media, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper revealed that defenseman Victor Hedman is considered day-to-day, as the big Swede is out with an undisclosed injury. It isn’t quite known when or where Hedman was hurt, but his absence from the team’s last two practices has raised questions about his health.
The 34-year-old noticeably played a season-low 17:51 during the team’s 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals this past Saturday. He picked up an assist in the victory, giving him points in four straight games. Through the team’s roller coaster start to the season, Hedman has been a significant presence at both ends of the rink. Through 15 games, he has registered 12 assists, sitting fourth on the team in scoring, three points back of Jake Guentzel.
Cooper also stated that fellow blueliner Ryan McDonagh is going to be “out a few games.” He states that McDonagh isn’t day-to-day yet, but that could change in the near future.
