This holiday season, unfortunately, many seniors across Western New York will not be able to get around to see family or friends, but this year, you can help make their holidays brighter.

The local non-profit Senior Wishes is collecting items for their Simple Wishes For The Holiday program. They will be delivering much-needed and wanted items to seniors in Western New York who don’t have family around for the holidays.

How You Can Help Seniors In Western New York

Currently, Senior Wishes is taking nominations for seniors to be added to their Simple Wishes program. If you know a senior who has no family around during the holiday season, you can nominate them to be included in the program. Seniors who are part of the program will receive a stuffed animal, throw blanket, and puzzle book, along with their requested gift.

If you know a senior in need, you can nominate them HERE. There are some guidelines for seniors to be part of the program. They include:

65+ years old Reside in Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee, or Wyoming counties. Income under $38,000 ($44,000 for a couple) OR a permanent resident of a care facility.

You must nominate a senior in need by November 15th.

If you don’t know a senior, you can still help out the program by purchasing gifts and other items from the Senior Wishes Amazon Wishlist. You can purchase and ship the items directly to Senior Wishes HERE.
