Ellis is expected to start on the road against Utah on Wednesday, per Michael Augello of The Hockey News.
Ellis has made one start with the Sabres this season — he allowed two goals on 31 shots in a victory against Detroit on Oct. 22. Buffalo also has Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Alex Lyon on the roster, so Ellis’ opportunities are few and far between. He has a 9-7-0 record and ranks 15th in goals per game with 3.19.
