The Philadelphia Flyers have officially activated forward Tyson Foerster from injured reserve ahead of Wednesday’s game vs. the Edmonton Oilers. Foerster was placed on IR on November 3rd, retroactive to November 1st.
The winger has not played since November 1st’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he took a point-blank shot off the left skate/ankle area. He has since been on IR.
Foerster had ramped up his skating in the past few days, participating fully at Tuesday’s practice and Wednesday’s morning skate. With the Flyers hosting the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday, they’ll sure be happy to have the two-way forward return to the lineup.
Despite missing four games, Foerster is still tied for the second-most goals on the team with four. They will be happy to get his scoring back in the lineup.
In a corresponding move, the Flyers have reassigned forward Carl Grundstrom to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the AHL.
Grundstrom played just one game with the Flyers after his call-up, playing most of his minutes with Noah Cates and Travis Konecny. It was a small sample size, but Grundstrom did not look bad in his short stint in Philadelphia.
Grundstrom was sent to the Flyers in the trade sending Ryan Ellis’ contract to San Jose.
