Boston Bruins star forward David Pastrnak scored his 400th career goal in the team’s 5-3 home win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.
Pastrnak scored just 49 seconds into the second period to give Boston a 4-1 lead. Once he scored, the entire Bruins bench cleared to celebrate with Pastrnak on the ice.
Following the game, Pastrnak said scoring his 400th career goal at home in front of Bruins fans made it special.
“It was awesome to top it off with a win,” Pastrnak said on Tuesday, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “To be able to do it at home in front of our fans, that is why it was special.”
Pastrnak, meanwhile, admitted he didn’t think too much about his 400th goal until the entire team swarmed him on the ice.

“At that point, I didn’t make much of it,” Pastrnak added. “But it really hit me when the guys came over. That was so cool what they did for me. That is when it, probably, really hit me.”
Pastrnak then scored his second of the game on the power play midway through the third period to give Boston a 5-3 win. The Bruins were trying to get Pastrnak his hat trick when Toronto pulled their goalie, but the star forward couldn’t capitalize.
Ultimately, the Bruins still cruised to a 5-3 win over Toronto at home to extend their win streak to seven and improved to 11-7-0.
