Sport: NHL
After six weeks, managers in fantasy hockey leagues are starting to inch closer to officially declaring themselves as contenders, while others admit they need to perform better before it’s too late. This causes some owners to be greedy for players or desperate to shake things up, making this week’s buy low/sell high recommendations the most important so far.

Fantasy Hockey Buy Lows
Brayden Point – Tampa Bay Lightning
Brayden Point has scored over 80 points in his last 3 seasons with the Lightning, but he’s currently showing no signs of replicating that success this year. Despite playing alongside Nikita Kucherov, Point has collected just 3 goals in 15 games, while being a -9 on the season. He’s also struggled to produce on Tampa’s first power-play unit, and doesn’t throw the body or block very often, making his fantasy value exceedingly low at the moment.
That said, the Lightning are finally beginning to turn things around after a rough start, going 7-3-0 in their last 10 games. With managers losing patience with Point, now is the perfect time to acquire him for a ridiculously low price before he returns to form like his team.
Jacob Markstrom – New Jersey Devils
Although Jacob Markstrom missed two weeks of action last month due to a lower-body injury, he’s still found it difficult to produce solid numbers in net when he’s healthy. Through his first 7 starts, Markstrom posted a 0.872 save percentage and a 3.82 goals against average, yet still managed to record 4 wins in the process.
Additionally, the Devils currently sit atop the Metropolitan division, having only lost 5 games this season despite Markstrom’s inconsistent goaltending.
With New Jersey also sitting just outside of the top 10 for the best goals against in the league, managers should consider buying extremely low on the 35-year-old, who should turn things around with a strong team in front of him.
Fantasy Hockey Sell Highs
Dylan Cozens – Ottawa Senators
Dylan Cozens was one of the hottest players to begin the 2025-2026 campaign, but he’s been rather disappointing from a fantasy hockey perspective as of late. Cozens only has 3 points in his last 8 games played after being a point-per-game throughout October. He’s also been unable to contribute on Ottawa’s power-play, having failed to score on the man advantage despite being featured on the first unit.
Although he’s struggled over the last two weeks, Cozens is still ranked high in most leagues, having been reliable on the face-off dot and being a physical threat on a nightly basis. Therefore, managers with Cozens should take advantage of his rank and trade him for a player who is more likely to produce more offense.
Justin Faulk – St. Louis Blues
Justin Faulk has been a bright spot on a St. Louis team that has one of the worst records in the NHL right now. In 17 games, Faulk has recorded 9 points, but most of his value has come from contributing to categories such as hits and blocks.
For owners who feel secure with their peripheral stats, it’s wise to sell Faulk for a defenseman with more of an offensive upside, as he’s failed to be impactful on the power-play and is on the wrong side of plus/minus at the moment.
Going forward, it’s best to part ways with Faulk for a better piece, especially if the Blues can’t keep the puck out of their net for the foreseeable future.
The middle of November marks a pivotal time for managers to start taking risks, as trading for the right player(s) a quarter through the fantasy season can be the difference between making the playoffs and tanking for next year.
