The news is encouraging for the Grand Rapids Griffins about injured goalie Sebastian Cossa and less so about goalie Michal Postava.

“Cossa skated this morning,” Grand Rapids coach Dan Watson said after Grand Rapids’ 3-2 overtime win against the Toronto Marlies. “Skating on his own, hopefully he will join us for parts of practice (Thursday), to see where he is at.”

Watson said Postava is still being evaluated. “He will be out a little while,” he added.

Postava was injured (lower body) making a save in the Griffins’ shootout loss to the Chicago Wolves Sunday afternoon.

Detroit prospect Carter Gylander was the Griffins’ goalie Wednesday in School Day victory. He posted 34 saves.

The Watson’s postgame interview is available at the Griffins website.
