The incident occurred in the first period when Dillon caught Bertuzzi up high with his left elbow along the boards in the corner, pressing the Chicago forward face-first into the glass. Bertuzzi would stay in the game.
Dillon was handed a two-minute boarding penalty on the play, leading to a Connor Bedard power-play goal that Bertuzzi assisted on.
The Devils went on to win the matchup 4-3 in overtime on a winner from Simon Nemec. Dillon had five hits and was a minus-1 in 21:49 of ice time, while Bertuzzi had four shots on goal and one blocked shot in addition to the assist.
