Colorado Hockey Now

With Mackenzie Blackwood in the net, the Avs scored three times in the first period and went on to defeat the Buffalo Sabres 6-3. Blackwood struggled early, giving up two weak goals. But his game started to settle in.

Martin Necas and Gavin Brindley were the heroes in this one, leading the Avalanche to a fifth straight win.

On Tuesday, general manager Chris MacFarland locked up forward Gavin Brindley to an extension ahead of the Anaheim game. On Thursday, it was Scott Wedgewood securing an extension ahead of Colorado’s game against Buffalo.
