COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Former Blue Jacket left winger Matt Calvert lives with his family in Canada but is back in Columbus this week to help celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
Calvert, along with former CBJ goaltender Marc Denis, forwards David Vyborny and Brandon Dubinsky, and defenseman Aaron Johnson, will be recognized before the puck drops against the New York Rangers at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Calvert spent eight seasons (2010-2018) in Union Blue, including multiple playoff appearances.
“Matty Hustle” spent three seasons with the Colorado Avalanche before retiring from the NHL in 2021. Now, Calvert is a co-founder of CAL Sports Management and a hockey dad. This weekend, he is looking forward to reconnecting with former linemates and getting to know the 2025 team.
