After a thrilling 6-5 shootout win against the Blues on Friday, the Philadelphia Flyers (9-5-3) are right back in action when they take on the Dallas Stars (11-4-3) Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. EST.

The Flyers have won three of their last five, and are 6-2-2 in their last 10 games. Dallas is coming into the game on a four-game win streak, going 7-1-2 in their last 10 games.

Philly enters the game as the second leg of a back-to-back, something they have had their fair share of struggles with. This season, this is only their second back-to-back. However, you could see how it impacted in the second game. Let’s see how the Flyers will do against Dallas on Saturday. The puck drop is at 8:00 p.m. EST at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Here is how the Flyers are expected to line up on Saturday.

Things to watch

It was the Dvorak line that quite literally powered the Flyers to their win on Friday. Keep an eye on them to continue their excellent play on Saturday. Trevor Zegras and Christian Dvorak each tallied two goals and a primary assist.

Zegras also tallied the eventual shootout winner, the only player to get a puck past a goaltender in the shootout.

Owen Tippett picked up three assists and the goal that evened the score at five. They were rolling on Friday, let’s see if they keep that going.

Dan Vladar should draw back in between the pipes on Saturday after Ersson started on Friday. Vladar has the chance to really take control of the net. A good game in goal from Vladar against this Dallas Stars team could be the end of the Flyers’ internal goalie competition.

Ahead of Friday’s game, I mentioned Travis Konecny, Matvei Michkov, and Cam York’s streaks entering the game. All three players were held pointless in the game. Look for them to get back on the scoresheet on Saturday.

Previous Matchups

Last season, the Stars took both matchups vs. the Flyers, giving Philly a record of 0-1-1 in the season series.

The first game in Philadelphia never had a chance to be competitive. Dallas jumped out to a 3-0 lead just over halfway through the game. Morgan Frost scored for the Flyers, but Miro Heiskanen gave the Stars the three-goal lead back before the game ended.

The second game was a bit more competitive. In Dallas, it looked like another round of Stars domination as the first 20 minutes ended with Dallas up 2-0. However, a two-goal second period from the Flyers (Travis Konecny and Ryan Poheling goals) would even the score at two apiece.

The game went into overtime, but it was not very long. Thomas Harley scored his second goal of the game just nine seconds into the overtime period, giving the Dallas Stars a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
