The Minnesota Wild are rumored to be open for business as GM Bill Guerin is looking to make significant upgrades to his roster.

The Wild enter Saturday’s action with a 7-7-4 record, and are having serious issues scoring goals. Hockey insider Frank Seravalli recently commented on the Wild and mentioned Guerin’s intentions:

Frank Seravalli: Re Wild: Bill Guerin in general is relatively aggressive, at some point this season you’ll probably see him make a move; they need more scoring help – Flames Talk (11/11)

Guerin has been rumored to be open to just about anything as he looks for top-six help. Nazem Kadri in Calgary is garnering a ton of attention, but at this point, ownership doesn’t want to move him and showcase to their fanbase that they’re tanking for a top-five pick.

Guerin has his 2026 first-round pick to dangle, but those don’t normally get moved this far in advance of the trade deadline. If Guerin pulls something off in November it’s going to be a ‘hockey trade’, and the Wild have a few trade assets which could interest other teams.

Youngster Danila Yurov is a former first-round pick and has scored a couple of goals this season in 13 games. He’s not seeing a ton of ice time so he hasn’t necessarily had a golden opportunity to showcase his talents, but there’s going to be teams interested in his untapped potential.

On the back end, 22-year-old David Spacek could be a trade candidate for Guerin to upgrade his forward group. He’s a former fifth-round pick who has shot up the organizational depth chart and last season in the AHL as a 21-year-old, recorded 31 points in 72 games. Certainly a chance Spacek gets moved if Guerin wants an impact forward.

Keep an eye on the Wild. Guerin’s not going to sit on his hands if the struggles continue and will be looking to make a splash.
