Things to Watch for the Flyers
Matvei Michkov is entering Friday’s game with a three-game goal streak. The Flyers phenom started the season a little bit behind in his conditioning, but you can see the steady improvement. Now, he is looking like the player he was expected to be. Michkov is also the only Flyer to score in the last two games.
Speaking of streaks, Travis Konecny has a point in each of the Flyers’ last eight games. For a player who is having a “slow start”, Konecny has quietly produced 14 points in 16 games. That’s pretty good. Keep a close watch on Konecny on Friday, who will be hungry after his would-be game-winner was waived off on Wednesday.
Cam York is also on a good stretch. The Flyers’ defenseman has five points in his last four games.
The last thing to keep an eye on is the Flyers’ net-front presence. It looked pretty improved on Wednesday, despite only having one goal to show for it. Getting traffic in front will be a key to success for the Flyers in this matchup.

Previous Matchups
Last season, the matchups between the Flyers and Blues favored Philadelphia. The Flyers went 2-0-0 in their matchups against St. Louis last season, including an OT win in St. Louis.
In the first matchup in Philadelphia, goals from Garnet Hathaway and Nathan Walker made it a 1-1 game late in the third period. Looking like the game could go to overtime, Bobby Brink had a different idea, scoring the game-winner with just over three minutes left in the game.
The second matchup was in St. Louis, and it appeared to be headed for the same result. Owen Tippett scored in the first period, the only goal until Dylan Holloway evened the score in the final 10 minutes of regulation. Tyson Foerster answered, giving the Flyers the lead back less than a minute later. With time running out, it looked like the Flyers were destined for their second 2-1 win against the Blues, but Jake Neigbours tied the game with 20 seconds remaining. The game would go to overtime, but Matvei Michkov would end the game in OT, giving the Flyers the 3-2 win.
