The Winnipeg Jets activated forwards Cole Koepke and Morgan Barron from injured reserve. They also reassigned Brad Lambert, Nikita Chibrikov, and Parker Ford to the Manitoba Moose to create roster spots.
This move was expected, as Morgan Barron was seen skating in a regular jersey today. The trio reassigned to Manitoba were in light blue jerseys, signalling they were extra skaters in today’s practice.
Chibrikov remained scoreless on the season, while Ford and Lambert were held to just one point in 11 games and four games, respectively.
It goes without saying that the Manitoba Moose will benefit from today’s transactions. The team already boasts young talent in Brayden Yager, Colby Barlow, Danny Zhilkin, Elias Salomonsson, Thomas Milic, and Domenic DiVincentiis. The Moose, who are off to a 7-6-2-0 start to the 2025-26 season, sit in fourth place in the AHL Central Division.
The Moose roll back into Manitoba for a six-game home stretch. They’ll look to defend their four-game winning streak that they’re bringing back with them against the Chicago Wolves, a team they’ll face five times in their next seven games.
Some potential forward lines that the Moose could roll out on Thursday against Chicago shows the depth they already have and what they’re adding.
Nikita Chibrikov – Parker Ford – Brad Lambert
Phillip Di Giuseppe – Brayden Yager – Samuel Fagemo
Colby Barlow – Danny Zhilkin – Jaret Anderson-Dolan
Mason Shaw – David Gustafsson – Walker Duehr
It’s a telling sign that the Moose are headed in a positive direction, and they’re going to benefit massively from having the trio of Chibrikov, Ford, and Lambert back.
The Moose kick off a six-game home stand against the Chicago Wolves on Thursday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm CST.
