Jeff Garlin of Curb Your Enthusiasm talks with Moritz Seider after late-game scuffle in New York.

New York — Comedian Jeff Garlin couldn’t hide his enthusiasm Sunday being in the Red Wings’ locker room after the 2-1 victory over the New York Rangers.

Garlin, best known for his roles on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “The Goldbergs,” was in the Wings’ locker room and had a ball meeting players and staff.

Garlin attends many Rangers games at Madison Square Garden and had a Rangers’ hat — but was quickly given a Wings cap. Garlin is a friend of Wings play-by-play man Ken Daniels, and was a between-periods guest of Daniels on a Wings’ broadcast last season.

Garlin jumped in during an interview with defenseman Moritz Seider, and “helped” Seider out.

“So important. We got killed and I hated it,” Garlin said of the importance of the Wings’ winning Sunday, after suffering a difficult loss the night before at Little Caesars Arena to Buffalo. “Ah, no good, so tonight felt good.”

Garlin had fun responding to questions about the after-game scrum with the Wings and Rangers, after Rangers goaltender Jonathan Quick took exception to Mason Appleton shooting a puck into the empty net.

“I was trying to get over the glass to join the scrum,” Garlin said. “I’m a scrummer. How long have you (Seider) been scrumming for? A couple years. I’ve been scrumming before you were born.”
