Colorado keeps on winning and Scott Wedgewood had another great game. Also, Jonathan Drouin spoke about the departure he didn’t want to happen, and the Habs have yet another injury to deal with.

All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — November 17.

Colorado Hockey Now

The Avs can’t be stopped. We’ve spoken in the past about how Colorado keeps ending winning streaks. This time it was the Islanders and their four-game streak that came to an end at the hands of Scott Wedgewood and his teammates.

Wedgewood was the star in this one. The Avalanche won 4-1.

Jonathan Drouin was very open and honest at morning skate about his time with Colorado. More importantly, he was transparent about not wanting to leave.

Drouin spoke for more than five minutes, and I broke that down in this Game Preview story that’s still worth a read after the game.

Around The NHL

New Jersey Hockey Now: Simon Nemec has arrived. Here’s why the young defenseman has finally found his stride.

Montreal Hockey Now: Another day, another unfortunate injury for the Habs. Kirby Dach is going to miss some time.

Detroit Hockey Now: The Red Wings went into New York and handled the Rangers. New York is an atrocious 1-7-1 on home ice. This game had quite the ending. And a great picture (and caption) that was sent out by the team afterwards.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: I wondered what the Nashville Predators would do coming out of the Global Series if things didn’t go well for them. Nashville won the first game 2-1 in OT. But in the second game, the Penguins dominated. It was a 4-0 shutout and a rookie goalie who was the star.

Is two goals in two games enough for the Preds to start selling off pieces? We shall see.
