The Detroit Red Wings return home on Tuesday night, getting set for a clash with the Seattle Kraken.
The Red Wings return home after a spirited win over the New York Rangers this past Sunday night. Along with avenging their disappointing loss to the Blueshirts a little over a week ago at Little Caesars Arena, Detroit managed to bring back a little bit of the Original Six rivalry fans were accustomed to years ago.
The two teams cleared the benches after the Wings claimed a 2-1 victory, thanks to some shenanigans involving Red Wings forward Mason Appleton and Rangers goaltender Jonathan Quick.
Nevertheless, the win was important for the Wings, who have been inconsistent since their red-hot start to the 2025-26 season. There is still a lot of hockey to be played, but team-bonding victories like what Detroit had at Madison Square Garden can galvanize a team to turn things around.
The Red Wings will now take on a Kraken team that has hopes of being competitive in the top-heavy Pacific Division. Seattle has played well in recent weeks, having won each of its past two games before coming to Detroit.
