Several Swiss players are in action in the NHL on Wednesday night Swiss time. While Nico Hischier scores, Nino Niederreiter can credit himself with an assist.
Four Swiss players were on the ice on Tuesday evening local time for the NHL game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the New Jersey Devils. In the end, Tampa celebrated a clear 5-1 victory with Janis Moser, while Nico Hischier, Timo Meier and Jonas Siegenthaler suffered a defeat with the Devils.
Hischier’s goal after the Tampa Bay Lightning had taken a 3-0 lead cut the deficit towards the end of the second period, but the hosts finally made the victory even clearer with two goals in the final period.
Nino Niederreiter also celebrated a clear victory with the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets won 5-2 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, with Niederreiter scoring one of the assists on the first goal.
Meanwhile, Lian Bichsel remained scoreless and winless. He lost 2:3 with the Dallas Stars against the New York Islanders. Pius Suter had a similar fate with the St. Louis Blues. The Zurich native’s team lost 3:2 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
