Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote has issued an update on forward Conor Garland after he was forced to leave Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The injury bug has been a bit of an issue for the Vancouver Canucks this season, with several players still on the sidelines including goaltender Thatcher Demko, who is out week-to-week according to General Manager Patrik Allvin.

As the Canucks took to the ice for warmup on Monday night, there was no sign of Conor Garland and Adam Foote provided an update to reporters on the 29-year-old winger.

Foote went on to add that Garland tweaked something, likely in his fight against Darren Raddysh of the Tampa Bay Lightning, but they don’t believe the issue is too serious nor will it keep him out for long.

Garland’s status for Thursday night’s contest against the Dallas Stars is up in the air at the moment, with the Canucks expected to skate tomorrow after traveling back to Vancouver on Tuesday.

The Scituate, Massachusetts native has been an important piece for the Vancouver Canucks this season, registering 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 17 games and hopefully he’ll be back on the ice and in game action sooner rather than later as the club looks to remain in the playoff mix in the Western Conference.
