During a recent appearance on Sekeres & Price, NHL insider Cam Robinson shared that the Vancouver Canucks have been “poking around” on Nashville Predators forward and 2019 Stanley Cup champion, Ryan O’Reilly.

However, Robinson would go on to add that O’Reilly isn’t too interested in joining the Vancouver Canucks and if he is to be traded by Predators GM Barry Trotz before deadline on Friday, March 6th, it’ll have to be to a team he has a strong chance of winning a Stanley Cup with.

“They were poking around Ryan O’Reilly; from what I was told he’s not super interested; I think he’s looking, if he is gonna move, to jump to a very legitimate contender.” Robinson said.

“”Vancouver Canucks acquire: Ryan O’Reilly

Nashville Predators acquire: Teddy Blueger, Aatu Raty, and a 2028 second-round pick.

In Vancouver, O’Reilly wouldn’t be expected to carry the offensive load. Pettersson is a former 100 point scorer that the Canucks certainly want to get back on track. However, they will want the 34-year-old to continue producing as he has.” Tristin McKinstry of Heavy.com said.

If the Vancouver Canucks are able to find a way to turn things around over the next couple of months and cement themselves as a playoff team, then perhaps Ryan O’Reilly may change his mind about coming to the Lower Mainland.
