The Nashville Predators are struggling early this season, and analysts and fans are both shocked that Head Coach Andrew Brunette remains in his role.
Last season, the Nashville Predators went all in on their veteran core by making some major additions in free agency, but unfortunately for the team, it hasn’t paid off at all.
Things have only spiralled in 2025/26, with NHL Insider Frank Seravalli labelling the current locker room as ‘toxic’, and with a record of 6-10-4 through their first 20 games, it doesn’t appear as though there’s going to be a bright spot on the horizon.
Analysts in shock that Andrew Brunette hasn’t been fired
There is plenty of blame to go around for the current situation that Nashville find themselves in, but according to Predlines, it’s a shock that Head Coach Andrew Brunette remains in his role.
Fans on social media clearly feel the same as well, and with no young core coming through to lead them into the future, and with no success in the past two years, it’s time for some type of shakeup in Nashville.
He’s not the only one to blame, as Barry Trotz has made some questionable moves as well, but with Brunette clearly not inspiring his roster to do much of anything in 2025/26, a new voice behind the bench is desperately needed.
Unless this team is going to go on a miraculous run in the next few months, there’s no reason to keep Brunette, and with the team staring down yet another losing season with very few top prospects coming through, it appears to be a matter of when, not if a change is made.
