Another USHL scoring leader is back on the market, as Dubuque forward Masun Fleece has decommitted from Penn State.
Fleece is currently second in the USHL with 14 goals and third with 23 points through 18 games. He’s also a plus-12 on the season, which ranks fourth among USHL forwards, and is tied for second with six power-play tallies.Â
The California native was tendered by the Fargo Force on April 7, 2023, and put up 19 points (11-8-19) over 73 games with the Force – which were split between the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons. Fleece previously put up 106 and 71-point seasons at Shattuck St. Mary’s for the U14 and U16 AAA teams respectively.
He left Fargo last December to join the BCHL’s Sherwood Park Crusaders, where he had 28 points (14-14-28) over 28 games, before returning to the USHL this fall.
Fleece originally committed to Penn State in August of 2023 but appeared on Dubuque’s line charts without a Nittany Lion logo this past weekend. Dubuque (14-4-0) is currently second in the USHL’s eastern conference with 28 points – just two behind Muskegon.
The news comes just two weeks after Lincoln’s Alex Pelletier flipped his commitment from Cornell to Boston College. Pelletier leads the USHL in both goals (20) and points (29).
Fleece is listed at 5-foot-9 and 184 pounds. The right-shot forward turns 19 in January and will also play for Team USA next month at the World Junior A Challenge.
