The Florida Panthers (10-8-1) will do battle with the New Jersey Devils (13-5-1) tonight at Amerant Bank Arena in the visitors only stop in suburban Sunrise this season.

Florida posted a wild, back-and-forth, 1980s-style 8-5 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Monday. Seth Jones scored twice on the power play, Sam Reinhart dished out three helpers, Sam Bennett and Brad Marchand each had a goal and an assist, and Carter Verhaeghe collected two assists as fifteen of Florida’s 18 skaters got on the score sheet. Also joining the point parade was Sergei Bobrovsky, who picked up his 14th career assist and finished the game with 10 saves on 15 shots. The uncharacteristic win saw the Panthers improve to 6-3-1 in their last ten games. With Cole Schwindt (broken arm) out of the lineup, top prospect Jack Devine will make his NHL debut tonight.

The Devils, who are currently sitting in second placed in the Metropolitan Division, will be playing the fourth tilt of a five-game road trip that’s seen them win close games in Chicago (overtime) and Washington (shootout) before getting manhandled by the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. Nico Hischier scored New Jersey’s only goal in the one-sided 5-1 loss. Former Panther Jacob Markstrom gave up five goals on 29 shots against the Bolts, so Jake Allen will get the start against los Gatos.
