The Red Wings are hoping they can continue their winning ways against a former Central Division rival. After a couple of tough results in their most recent homestand, losing three out of four at Little Caesars Arena, Detroit looked to turn things around in the current stretch of matchups in Hockeytown. After coming away with a spirited win over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, the Wings posted a strong effort on Tuesday night against the Seattle Kraken.
Powered by Nate Danielson’s first two goals in the NHL, the Red Wings skated away ot a 4-2 win, giving the team back-to-back wins for the first time in three weeks, and putting Detroit in first place in the Atlantic Division.
Now, the Wings face a Blue Jackets team that has not played poorly, but certainly has not been a team that is going to make noise in the playoff race. Prior to facing the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, Columbus had lost two of its past three games.
