Have a night, Jesper Wallstedt.
The Minnesota Wild goaltender tallied 42 saves on 45 shot attempts during Wednesday’s 4-3 shootout victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. He also saved the three shots he faced in the shootouts from Seth Jarvis, Andrei Svechnikov and Taylor Hall.
His celebration also led to quite the photo:
It was Minnesota’s fifth win in the last six games and third in a row, which improved its overall record to 10-7-4. That is good enough for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference playoffs.
Wallstedt has been excellent in his opportunities this season with a 5-0-2 record, 2.20 goals against average and .926 save percentage in seven games.
