After a somewhat promising start to the season, the Seattle Kraken have slowed down considerably. They’re fourth in the Pacific Division with 23 points—one point out of a playoff spot. The stakes are a bit higher for Seattle as they would like to collect those two points from a potential Conference rival. Seattle is dead last in expected goals share and 26th in Corsi. They struggle to create meaningful chances with minimal possession.

Their number one in net, Joey Daccord, recently returned after missing five games due to injury. Jaden Schwartz and Jordan Eberle lead the team in points with 14. Shane Wright has four goals and nine points, tying him for eighth overall in scoring on the team. The Kraken lack offensive punch at the top of their lineup and will rely on Daccord to stifle a Hawks team that also struggles to generate solid puck possession.

How can the Hawks win? By continuing to be effective on the rush and cleaning up their defensive zone coverage.
