A fan has gone to some pretty serious lengths in an attempt to ‘spiritually cleanse’ the New Jersey Devils after the freak injury to star forward Jack Hughes during a team dinner in Chicago.

The New Jersey Devils were dealt some seriously bad luck when star forward Jack Hughes was injured, but not because of an on-ice issue.

Hughes was hurt in what the team described as a “freak accident” during a team dinner, and he’s going to miss at least the next eight weeks.A fan has now gone to extreme lengths to try and ‘spiritually cleanse’ the Devils. The fan, known only as “MC”, hired a Witch from the popular global online marketplace ‘Etsy’ to cast a spell to try and alleviate the injury woes for the Devils.

I mean, the Devils still have an incredible record this year and we just have to roll with the punches when it comes to injuries. When it comes to lifting the curse, I hired the Etsy Witch for that specific part in the spirit of fun and lightheartedness, and because it worked pretty well for the Mariners.

Jack Hughes Is Expected To Miss At Least Eight Weeks With His Injury

The injury to Hughes took place while the team was out to dinner at a Chicago restaurant.

It was severe enough that the team announced that Hughes underwent surgery and was expected to miss at least the next eight weeks of the schedule, making it just the latest injury in his career.

Hughes hasn’t played in a full season since playing in 78 games in 2022-23. His season last year was ended after an injury against the Vegas Golden Knights in March, and he was forced to miss their Round 1 postseason series against the Carolin Hurricanes in the ECQF.
