The Detroit Red Wings’ performance against the Seattle Kraken was pure domination, as the team spoiled Lane Lambert’s return to Motor City.

Lane Lambert is now the head coach of the Seattle Kraken.

His first season with the Kraken has been a tumultuous affair, with Jared McCann on injured reserve and the team looking like a shell of the Kraken team that pushed into the 2nd round of the playoffs in 2023.

Lambert also shares something in common with the Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman; they both wore the winged wheel and were teammates here in Detroit.

“Drafted by Detroit in 1983, Kraken head coach Lane Lambert spent three seasons with the Red Wings and returned to Detroit on Tuesday as a member of the Kraken coaching staff”

The reunion was short-lived as soon as it began, as the Red Wings dominated the expansion team, winning handily, 4-2, over the Kraken.

The Detroit Red Wings Roast Lane Lambert and the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday

The Kraken hold a record of 4-2-3 (per StatMuse) in the past 9 games over the Red Wings, but last night seemed a change in fortunes for the Original Six team. The team from the deep would only answer back twice, with Jordan Eberle scoring on the power play during the 1st period and a Ryker Evans tally in the 2nd.

It seems as if Lambert’s former roommate has him all figured out on the ice, if we go by last night’s results.

The Red Wings made it happen, and it started off at the face-off circle, with the team winning 50.8% of all draws taken that night.
