We were eager to get a ruling on today’s NHL waiver wire, especially regarding young forward Alexandre Texier.

Let’s just say there was plenty of smoke, which brings us to today’s verdict.

A verdict for forward Alexandre Texier and the Montreal Canadiens on the NHL waiver wire

“St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the Blues have assigned forward Alexandre Texier to their AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.”

– St. Louis Blues

Texier was such a promising young player – extremely fast, full of talent and offensive qualities – but it’s true that he has been disappointing in recent years.

Texier, 26, is a speedy 6-foot-1, 196-pound forward, drafted in the second round by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2017.

He has 91 points in 240 career NHL games, including 40 goals, and has produced 11 points (in 31 games), 30 points (in 78 games), and 20 points (in 36 games) over the last few seasons.

And you – would you have made the same decision with forward Alexandre Texier?
