• Not discounting that Silovs was bad tonight. But the whole team has been pretty bad tonight, too. No rhythm, no flow. No forecheck. No sustained pressure. Even the power play was bad. Maybe too long of a break after Sweden. Who knows. But, man, this is rough to watch.

• Hard to gauge the Penguins’ game so far. Just one shot on goal, which is obviously terrible. They aren’t establishing any time in the offensive zone. But they’ve also had to spend nearly four minutes killing a penalty, too.

• GOAL: With just :14 remaining in the double minor to Lizotte, Buium rips an unscreened shot from the point and Eriksson Ek tips it past Silovs. 9:39 into the first period. Assists: Buium, Boldy. Wild 2, Penguins 0

• PENALTY: Lizotte receives a double minor for high-sticking Middleton, who immediately went down the runway to the locker room tossing his helmet out of anger.

• GOAL: Faber is left open in the slot and rips a shot. Silovs saves it, but leaves a rebound for Boldy left wide open, who buries it nearly uncontested. 3:57 into the first period. Assists: Faber, Eriksson Ek. Wild 1, Penguins 0
