The struggles in front of the net are generating a lot of chatter, but Nick Suzuki is staying the course, and the Canadiens’ captain wants to send a very clear message to everyone.

Montembeault was pulled in the second period for the second time in a week. Not ideal. And in my opinion, the third goal allowed was particularly tough to watch.

St-Louis didn’t hesitate to make a change, knowing how important every point is and how little room the Habs have to wait for things to stabilize in net – However, things only got worse from there, and they ended up losing 8-4.

But in the locker room, the tone is different. And none other than Nick Suzuki wanted to show it.

Nick Suzuki sends a message of hope to Sam Montembeault and Jakub Dobes

The captain went to the media after the game and explained that the pressure is enormous on a goalie when things aren’t going well.

Suzuki emphasized the confidence the team still has in both of them.

Habs captain Nick Suzuki tonight on the team’s struggling goalies Sam Montembeault & Jakub Dobes:

“Just keep putting our belief in them. We haven’t lost that. Everyone goes through tough times in a season and it just gets magnified as a goalie. We’ve still got all the belief in them to figure it out.”

“They’re both hard workers. They want to keep getting better and give ourselves a chance to win with them in the net, I’ll just give them some positivity.”

For Suzuki, there is only one solution:

When your captain speaks like that, it can really change everything, because the message is clear: Montembeault has already shown he can win games on his own in the past, and Jakub Dobes wants to prove he deserves his spot.

I like seeing that. You can feel that everyone is going to fight together and that the goalies will never be left alone.

They’ll need to regroup quickly if they want to turn things around fast.
