The Detroit Red Wings picked up a 4-3 overtime win over the Blue Jackets yesterday afternoon. They did so scoring three unanswered goals to secure the win, two of those three goals came via defenseman Ben Chiarot and Moritz Seider. The Red Wings were without defenseman Simon Edvinsson yesterday as he was listed as sick. Thatās something to watch as the today they recalled defenseman Erik Gustafsson from Grand Rapids of the AHL. Gustafsson with the Griffins this season in ten games has eight assists; heās a plus-seven. Gustafsson if he slides into the lineup tomorrow against the Devils can be a guy who quarterbacks the Detroit power-play.

Gustafsson has spent nine seasons in the NHL playing with eight different teams. He spent the majority of his time with the Blackhawks, also playing with the Red Wings, New York Rangers, Washington Capitals, Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames, and Montreal Canadiens. Heās played in 515 career NHL games recording 240 points on 47 goals and 193 assists. Heās a -15 with 23 power-play points, and six game-winning goals. Gustafsson has 504 career blocked shots and 454 hits.Ā
