Look to see how the San Jose Sharks respond tonight after what Head Coach Ryan Warsofsky called an “immature” game last night against the Ottawa Senators. The Sharks fell to the Senators 3-2 in regulation, giving up the puck more than twice as much as Ottawa. The response from the team tonight will show just how far the players have come and where they are in their development.

It will not be an easy task. The Boston Bruins are 13-10-0 for the season and appear to be back on track after missing the playoffs last season. David Pasternak is once again one of the top players in the league with 28 points in 23 games. Morgan Geekie has 16 goals this season and trails only Nathan MacKinnon in goal scoring league-wide.

In the net, a full preseason appears to have goaltender Jeremy Swayman back on track. Swayman is 9-5-0 this season with a 2.84 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.

Behind the bench, there’s also a familiar face. Former Shark Marco Sturm is in his first season as an NHL head coach. Sturm had a rocky start behind the bench for the Bruins, but he has his team on track now.

The Bruins last played on Friday night in Los Angeles, where the team beat the Kings 2-1 in overtime. Boston was in San Jose to watch the matchup against the Senators.

San Jose Sharks lines tonight

We’re pretty certain that the forward lines are going to stay the same. In the net, we expect that Yaroslav Askarov will get the start since Alex Nedeljkovic started the game last night. It’s the defense that’s a little up in the air. We know that Sam Dickinson will play after taking yesterday for a development day. Who he will play for is another question. Fans would like to see him slot in for John Klingberg, and that’s what I’ll put on the roster, but I would guess that it’s just as likely he takes the place of Shakir Mukhamadullin. There’s also the matter of Mario Ferraro and how he’s feeling after last night’s hit now that he’s had a chance to sleep on it.

Boston Bruins lines vs. San Jose Sharks tonight

The Bruins are dealing with some injuries tonight. Charlie McAvoy is dealing with a major injury after taking a puck to the face. He needed surgery to repair the damage and isn’t expected back for several weeks. Elias Lindholm is out with a lower-body injury. Jordan Harris, Casey Mittelstadt and Viktor Arvidsson are also out with injuries.

Look for Swayman in the net, according to NHL.com. In addition to Sturm behind the bench, former Shark Michael Eyssimont will likely play on the fourth line. Jeffrey Viel is expected to be scratched.

As expected, Mikko Rantanen has been automatically suspended for one game for receiving two game misconduct penalties in the physical infractions category in a 41-game stretch.
