Per a report from NHL analyst Darren Dreger, the Montreal Canadiens and general manager Kent Hughes have been considering a trade with the St. Louis Blues.

The Montreal Canadiens are fresh off their most recent win over the divisional foe Toronto Maple Leafs last night, 5-2.

Montreal is off to another good start so far this year, and it looks like they could be considering trying to beef up the lineup.

Per a new report from NHL analyst Darren Dreger, the Canadien and general manager Kent Hughes have been considering a trade with the St. Louis Blues, who are not performing well.

Darren Dreger: There are no shortage of GMs looking to buy; Kent Hughes of the Canadiens…I know that St. Louis [Blues] was all over that Habs game last night, so maybe there’s something going on between the Blues and Canadiens – Barn Burner (11/21)

Reports indicated that there were multiple opposing team executives in attendance last night at Bell Centre for the Maple Leafs and Canadiens, including Minnesota Wild GM Bill Guerin and St. Louis Blues Vice President of Hockey Operations Peter Chiarelli.

Multiple St. Louis Blues Players Are Involved In Trade Rumours

The Blues are in second to last place in the Central Division, and could be preparing to sell off assets.

One of the players most heavily involved in trade rumours is captain Brayden Schenn, while forward Jordan Kyrou has also been heavily involved in rumours.

Last season, the Blues fired head coach Drew Bannister after a slow start nearly a full 365 days ago and replaced him with former Boston Bruins coach Jim Montgomery, who led them to a playoff spot.

But right now, the Blues would come nowhere close to the playoffs if they began today.
