We were really looking forward to seeing the new Montreal Canadiens lines following the acquisition of forward Alexandre Texier, and now we have our answer.
The answer is still unclear!
“We like the potential of the player or else we wouldn’t have signed him and now it’s how we’re going to use that and I don’t know yet.”

As you know, everything can change very quickly in the NHL, but for the moment, everything indicates that Alexandre Texier will be scratched from Martin St-Louis’ lineup for Wednesday night’s game in Utah.
See what journalist Anthony Martineau is reporting.
“Unchanged lines at practice, while Texier skates with the defensemen.”

“Martin St-Louis says he doesn’t know how quickly Alexandre Texier will get into the line-up or who he will play with when he does draw into a game; right now it’s about Texier getting acclimated with the team, learning their systems.”

This will be a situation to watch, but let’s just say that among all the scenarios imagined, this one is very surprising.
There were 14 forwards on the ice today in Brossard for the Tricolore, so the two extras were Texier and Joshua Roy.
As for Roy, don’t be surprised if he doesn’t travel West with the Canadiens and simply stays with the Laval Rocket.
Texier, 26 years old, is a speedy forward standing 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 196 pounds, and was a second-round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2017. He has 91 points in 240 career NHL games.
